We just launched the first place to list and review Cashu mints leveraging #nostr as the discoverability and identity layer.

https://BitcoinMints.com

Cashu is an ecash protocol that will enable https://makeprisms.com users to send millions of #bitcoin payments with one click.

sexy

Coooool!

Yo LG!

I don't know if I like this. My vision for mints is that they are fist-readh-custody and not some winner-takes-all custody. With a popularity contest like this, you encourage the latter.

And in the end, all custodians have the power to take all the funds of all the users at once, no matter how popular they were a second before they do so.

Damn it!

Text input field is very small and doesn't enlarge. Should be an easy fix πŸ˜‰

This is sick!

Just posted a review about nostr:npub1kvaln6tm0re4d99q9e4ma788wpvnw0jzkz595cljtfgwhldd75xsj9tkzv

Apparently lots of folks use them. Great to see.

Got your #zap

But not going through? I got same error with minibits mint in enuts as well

Thoughts?

Please ignore now; issue is fixed. πŸ‘

Hm looks like something was temporarily offine, let's retry. Please dm me the copy of audit trail of the recorded transaction.

I just added one of my mints as a test. It says can't find the pubkey /endpoint, but it still added the mint. This is all for educational & testing purposes.

Best way to fix this?

Hmm not showing all of the sudden now. I'll figure it out

Not sure the best way to fix it if it's an lnbits mint, this info endpoint should return a public key for the mint.

We still add the mint, but just point it out to try to get you to follow the spec.

Yes makes sense, I chose to test on VPS for better clearnet reliability & uptime, so this issue makes sense. My node is the funding source for this LNBits instance, but maybe cashu can't identify that somehow (since instance is not hosted on same hardware as pubkey)

I made a super quick sites page about the mint & contact information here: https://TinyUrl.com/thesupermint

Thank you very much for making a mint review & search nostr client. Very much needed indeed!

I think it's just not built into lnbits to return the pubkey... none of the lnbits mints I've seen do. It's the mint's pubkey not lightning node's pubkey

Makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying

You might want to consider to not allow adding LNbits demo mints at all to the list. It's unclear whether these will be there permanently.

Looks like just self-hosted lnbits so far, but good point

You're doing awesome work.

Really cool

I don’t understand

If you use any #ecash mint please go and share your thoughts about how your experience has been using a particular mint. Great client!

Is this just a website for mints that upload and user reviews of cashu? Can mints only be selected based on user reviews? This seems to be a good way to create fake reviews.πŸ‘€

very cool but I believe this was already done before

Day 1: 8 mints and 18 reviews on https://BitcoinMints.com

Day 100 Projection: There will be 100s of mints and thousands of reviews

Filters and fedimints up next. What else do you want to see?

How do you know which mints are reliable custodians?

Reviews by friends already using the mint are a good place to start.

nice one nostr:npub1cd0l3s6qgj0s6690rtkys39mgj5upwxpm4856nhmce0pyqu6xj9qh7xlvx , any plans or ETA for QR codes so we can easily scan into eNuts? 🌰 πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ

good idea - i didn't realize eNuts let you scan a QR code to connect a mint. We'll look into adding this.
