some require proof of work to get the badge others are just for fun like my early adopter badge that I started almost have 100 plebs that have accepted the badge so far
It’s a great concept. Good addition to the Nostr ecosystem.
Users can create and award badges (badges.page)
Used for a variety of things like achievements or recognition of contributions. Can also be used as a token to gate access.
Gives others an idea about your npubs history at a quick glance.
Where do you see these badges?
Right now they show up in snort (I believe) and on badges.page. Maybe amethyst too? I dunno, saw another client implement it but I’m not familiar with the client.
It’s up to developers to integrate them into their clients. So if you want to see them but don’t, can ask devs :)
I'm on amethyst 0.23.1 and don't see any. Probably cuz I haven't earned one yet 😊 I'll check out badges.page
Ah, maybe it was another client I’m not sure.
It’s NIP-58. You can put little bad on your profile like this. People can make it and award to other people. I made some today for fun.
