I understand how intelligence operations from the country I live in, or a country my country is allied with could impact me, but I don't understand how intelligence operations on me from a country my country is adversarial towards impacts me at all.
In tiktoks case I get it. They have algos designed to attempt to change the political landscape of your country and put themselves in an advantageous position, but what's the impact with telegram?

But so is thinking Telegram is separated from Russian interests.
I personally like the guy, based on his speeches.
He is an incredible communicator. And he understands what causes a nation to operate or decay.
He is also a brutal, cold blooded killer. So there is that bit.
But Russia is not a monolith. There are many factions. Putin is not in charge of everything all the time. But if you get too far out of line, or embarrass Russia, you just disappear.
Russia will always be the first and best in embarrassing itself, you have to give it that.

But Telegram has some really good privacy features like
If I send a picture with a 1 min timer in Secret Chat, the other user can't download or screenshot the image.
Also in Secret Chats, if anytime my messages are screnshoted by the other user - a notification appears in the chat window.
I believe most privacy friendly apps like Signal, SimpleX doesn't have those features.
Don't rely on that feature actually working. There are many ways to bypass the restriction on screenshots.
