He said that all the ice caps would be melted by 2014, so yes. However his form of hysteria was much more professional and much harder to see through.
It’s become such a political issue now that it’s increasingly easy to see what a hysteric looks like versus what a practical person who cares about the world and human flourishing looks like.
He was Vice President of the US in the 90s and, while still a senator, co-authored a bill that paved the way for the Internet to flourish. Many years later, while running for president, he poorly worded a brag about that bill that made it imply he had a hand in inventing the Internet, and an early meme was born, before we even had the word meme.
