This is the dystopia waiting if we let digital ID roll out in the West.

It’s too late. The convenience to schools is too big for attendance (how public schools get “paid”), lunch, daycare, mobile device management and more. It’s framed as security and cost savings. Then they grow up and everyone is captured. IMHO….
It's too late because people are dumb. If they would shift to Monero this would be over in no time. Some struggle, fights and deaths. Sure. But the system would collapse as soon as people get to control their own money privately.
I’m trying to imagine everyone pulling their money from billions of accounts globally and trying to covert to Monero “in no time” 😂

It sure can, after massively deployed to streets and public transportation (bus stations, train stations etc.). These cameras enhance the relation between ID and all captured faces.
There's also face lights that installed near these street cameras. these lights diretly shoot to your faces at night. And in order to make sure they get the good quality faces, the installation hight become lower and lower, near 2m~2.4m.
