Being Gen X, as many as I knew people. I still can even though I only memorize those in my close circle now.

We don't remember them anymore because smart phones don't require dialing them

And so you can call your friend's mom from the payphone and tell them where you are so that when your friend calls their mom from another payphone they can be told where to meet you.

The skill people need is to develop now is to recognize public keys, so as not to get scammed by fake IDs. Or have software that will do it

I only know one single phone number: My own.

I don't even know my wife's number.

Interestingly, with mobiles, I don't remember phone numbers anymore.

I can however remember phone numbers of my old house, friends, and family members that I used to call 😂 😂
