In your opinion…

What’s the best mobile wallet for someone just getting into #bitcoin?

Muun?

Exodus is easy to use and works well.

I found muun super easy to start with.

This.

The only real downside of muun imo is when sending lightning payments OUT, there's higher fees due to their implementation of submarine swaps. Lightning in is fine/normal.

It's great as a recieving wallet and it combines your lightning and onchain balances into one unified amount.

Protip: It's also really good for consolidating your utxos. When you have like 1-5m sats in your muun wallet, you can send it out in one big utxo to cold storage. A great way to consolidate all those nostr zaps alongside your relatively small onchain transactions.

Excellent explanation! Muun was quick to show the power of btc tx, incoming. Theres is something about the simplicity of that. Def agree with other options for those with different intent or goals. Each wallet has something different to offer.

Good thought on the utxo consolidation with muun 🤙🏼

I think muun is the best place to start as well. Bitcoin only too.

The only issue I have is the private key being different than the normal 12 or 24 words. Not that it’s less secure, but can be confusing for new people.

I also agree that the fake lightning stuff is a little confusing but does provide opportunity for better Utxo management compared to other wallets.

The answer is nuanced imo. I think for someone first getting in, custodial is slightly better IF they are willing to learn and upgrade to non custodial later. The type of normie who isn't ever gonna get deep into the weeds, noncustodial is a no brainer. A techie normie might be able to start with noncustodial.

Lightning, onchain, or both? Onchain is great for learning but maybe less "wow" factor. Custodial lightning feels like magic. Noncustodial lightning is a pain in the ass but the "right" way to do it (not for recently converted normies unless theyre tech inclined)

If fees don't matter and mostly used for onchain? I like muun

If non-usa and you wanna wow someone, i like wallet of satoshi

If custody doesn't matter, I like strike

If noncustodial matters, I like what mutiny offers. Zeus is a close second for me.
