To further illustrate, imagine you are a surgeon and while you are trying to reattach a foot, there is another surgeon cutting off the leg and a further doctor (the judge) often arbitrarily construing the best practices (the law) in favor of one legged people because its the result that judge prefers because perhaps prosthetics are good for the economy, knowing further surgeries (appeals) would be unaffordable to the patient.
