I want to do a thing.

I don't know people here very well yet and I would love to get to know you all better! My goal here is to make some long-term friends on this platform.

So here's the challenge. I'll do this from time to time, so if you don't get it this time don't worry, you'll have another shot!

I'm going to zap 1000 sats to the first ten people who respond to this note with a brief bit about them. Be sure to add the hashtag #intros4sats just for shits and giggles.

It can be as much or as little as you like but as stated above, the idea is to get to know you better! Here's a list of ideas to get you started. You can use some, all or none of these.

1. What do you do in the fiat mines?

2. Where are you from/where do you live?

3. What brought you to nostr?

4. What is a hobby that you enjoy?

5. Coffee?

6. What got you into Bitcoin?

I'll go first. I work in a Gold Mine in Northern Ontario and I'm a professional photographer on the side. I'm originally from Southern Ontario (London, Stratford area) but my wife and I moved to an area outside Fort Frances Ontario in 2021. I hate Canada now.

My friend nostr:npub1syp3ulvlvxawde5x29dtcqh2jtscq3jnr08zt6esmd2kvmxyfgcqnlxv6g brought me over to Nostr from Instagram and I was curious so I joined. Now I'm so glad I did! I used to have a ton of hobbies but as a new father I don't have as much time for stuff that isn't working on our home or spending time with my daughter, that being said I would consider my photography a hobby for now but I'm working on building that out into a business (preferably Bitcoin only).

Always coffee. Always.

I got into cryptocurrency through buying stuff on exchanges at first, then got into Ethereum mining. It's only recently that I've gone full Bitcoin maximalist as my understanding has increased. Again, we can thank nostr:npub1syp3ulvlvxawde5x29dtcqh2jtscq3jnr08zt6esmd2kvmxyfgcqnlxv6g for giving me the copy of "The Bitcoin Standard" that brought me to that point.

That's all for now, hope to get to know some of you as we waltz down the nostr path!

Let’s see if Damus supports zaps.

I’m a code monkey in the fiat mines (for a bank, ironically). There was one very specific gif that got me into bitcoin - back in 2017 when it first hit $4k, somebody posted on /r/bitcoin about that with a gif of a modern Indian Bollywood movie where there’s a bunch of dudes dancing in traditional dresses for men.

That got me very jealous that all these people were making tremendous profit while I was sitting on some boring ass mutual funds. Been 100% bitcoin for years now and couldn’t be happier 😁

I can't zap you! Get that set up and I will! I owe you 1000 sats!

If you put a lightning address in your profile then people can zap your profile directly but not individual notes (in damus)

Get an Android!

Pretty sure you're not a fed, so:

1. What do you do in the fiat mines?

2. Where are you from/where do you live?

3. What brought you to nostr?

4. What is a hobby that you enjoy?

5. Coffee?

6. What got you into Bitcoin?

Run a small managed services / Computer repair company, just a 3 man shop for now.

Louisiana

The Corbett Report

Playing keyboard for a dirty country music band, cooking, and making bizarre images in Stable Diffusion

French roast. From a percolator if possible. But I prefer sweet iced tea.

Libertarianism, Austrian Economics, and and my background in tech made the soil fertile, but my older brother introduced us. I owe him big time.

I love coffee every day, usually french press.

I'm a retired Imaging tech in healthcare, did Cat Scans and Xrays. I could no longer tolerate it, so quit a few yrs ago.

I love the outdoors and planting things, especially trees. Stay very busy with the farm animals.

I first started learning about btc after hearing Jack Spirko talk about it on his podcast, and havent looked back.

Thanks for the nice zap #Kyle Harkes! I love this idea😊

You're very welcome! I thought it was a fun way to get to know people. Plus, I love zapping people.

I’m somewhere between Europe, Asia and Australia, I like bikes and snowboards, and I’m not into Bitcoin. 😂😎

And coffee - yes of course, until it’s time to drink some wine 🍷!

I organize a Bitcoin conference in Europe and host a Bitcoin podcast, while trying to run meetups and other community projects, based out of Berlin.

1. Working for the Evil Empire (Big Tech)

2. From up north, living in the somewhere in the mid Atlantic

3. Bitcoin Twitter brought me to Nostr and I’ve never looked back

4. #Capoeira

5. Sometimes. More of a tea person.

6. Covid Insanity + Bitcoin Clubhouse

That's a pretty nice idea. Pass the 1000 Sats forward to someone else.

My name does not matter. I am responsible for digital manufacturing/digitalisation (CAM and 3D printing) in a dental laboratory. i am born in Poland and live near Hamburg in Germany right now. As I got fed up with Twitter I gave nostr a try and feel home here. I enjoy 3d design and printing and like to tinker around with gadgets. But what I like most is to give products a new life or enlong their lifecycle by repairing them. I don't drink coffe but energy drinks to wake up. A general interest in tech, new services and of course I always felt like fiat wouldn't be able to safe my lifetimes work for my son.

I’m a CPA, coffee is a must, got here after seeing a post from @jack on Twitter (now X), made lots of friends and learned a lot about the Lightning network since coming here.

Welcome to the party. 🤙🏻🫂
