Facial recognition tech is leading to a massive loss of privacy. We don’t need to let every possible technology be deployed by companies or the state.

"i dont care, my face has nothing to hide"

"they already have it all anyway, so what?"

“Why so worried, you a criminal ?”

“I’m boring, no one cares about me”

"It's your inflated ego and sense of self-importance talking"

I concur. The jump from tracking you online to tracking you in the physical world was to be expected. As always, the protection of the right to privacy lags behind the use of technology.

While we're at it we should also #banraybans. As well as any other glasses / sunglasses manufacturers teaming up with the likes of poop-for-brains CEOs like zuck to put ubiquitous surveillance devices on the faces of every fucking human walking the streets of earth.

Yes, it’s very problematic and can be used as tool for bias (by stores) and invasion of privacy!

It’s something I’ve been concerned with for over 10 years.

I sketched out an idea for a short story set in the future — a la 📽️”Bladerunner” — in which facial recognition is prevalent and explores privacy concepts, but it got too complex when I started actually writing it.

It would be better as a novel or film so on hold.

How is Ev these days?
