Like SQL databases for example.

In order to store data in a SQL database efficiently, you have to mangle it beyond the point of recognition. The data ends up all wrong and jumbled, but hey, it's fast.

what do you mean by mangling? the user has to mangle it? or the database does it?

You take any useful data in the world, and your first thought for organizing it isn't in tables.

It's the process of taking organic data and forcing it into tables that is, in my opinion, mangling.

oh, I see

yes, I definitely agree with that

tables are a very ugly abstraction

That's fucked up man, I didn't know that.

SQL is structured query language right?

Some people say that

When I was learning SQL my textbook told me it didn't stand for anything in particular

Also, yes, it's a computer language that deals with databases

Yes, but I wouldn't take my take too seriously. I just have strong views on data modelling.

mangling? how dare you. it's called nOrMAl1zation.

🤣
