Are there any podcast apps that allow you to clip a section of a podcast and save it as a mp3?

Was going to say Fountain but you can only dl full episodes. Guess Audacity to clip would be a way to do it.

Was going to say fountain too but did not know what file format so was checking it out.

Do it only save clips into cloud? Saving clips is premium feature and im not paying for that unless i can pay with bitcoin 😄

Actually now see that the download is for offline listening in the app. Probably best to find an RSS feed in that case. Then you'd have an ogg or mp3 to work with.

I need something that I can clip from my phone. I do all my podcast listening walking usually

VLC

Was that a silly answer? I frequently download podcasts, videos etc and then use the record function to save the section I want.

Also surely just about anything by NCH - videopad etc. Maybe I've misunderstood the requirements here.

I do all my podcast listening while walking. I can’t sit and listen so I need a smartphone app that allows me to quickly clip a part of a podcast I’m listening to and save it as a mp3. I don’t want to do any of it on desktop

Yeah I don't know the answer then. If I'm using my phone I just stream but usually I download at the office and shove in a USB in the car. Archaic I know!

Whatever works best for you! No judgement here :)

You can certainly make clips in Fountain of podcasts, as others have suggested, but I don't know if it can be downloaded as an mp3.

Just shared a clip from Fountain as an mp3, sent it to VLC, seems to work.

Maybe I'm wrong, it'll play on VLC but it's not added to media, so it's not on my phone. There is an option to email it.

I've created clips on Fountain.FM app on iPhone before, but hadn't tried to save as mp3. Thanks for suggesting this - I had to try it!!! Just did it. Fountain on iPHone at least will let you create a clip, save it, then you can send it (you choose which app...) I tried via email and Files (iCloud). I was able to receive it as mp3 and play it. It's a number of taps, but it worked well.

Thanks for this. Are you a premium Fountain user or can you do it on the free version?
