you would be salty too after 40 years of suffering under the rule of Lord Billious Gates regime of software bullshit and malicious driver exclusion agreements

just got a nice new pc, was a bargain, but oddly when i try to get it to boot linux, when linux, liveusb, several types, plus my installed versions, on ssd, on sata, none of them permit a display to appear, monitor turns off and that's that

i bought this thing because i kinda trust AMD to not do this kind of shit but it's clearly some crazy nonsense in the fucking BIOS or some shit and i have work to do and this just consumed another 5 hours of my life to no result

that's the kind of shit that makes you salty

and i've professionally solved people's problems caused by this bullshit for nearly 10 years in the first decade of the 2k century

so i'm salty on behalf of a lot of other people as well

kernel 5 support of this hardware is fine, even perplexity.ai is confirming positive reports on ubuntu 20.04 on it

linux 6 support of AMD hardware is patchy as fuck

i have had three recent devices not work properly on kernel 6, i tinkered found a couple of versions, 6.4, 6.2, 6.1 but 6.6 out of the question on my main laptop it is running 6.5 currently which works ok on the ideapad 3 with ryzen 5 processor and vega graphics, this hardware i just got is similar, but more grunty, more cores, but it looks like linux is fucking us

there is big pressure building up in the tech industry lately, and AMD, ironically AMERICAN micro devices... is more friendly to open source, has an open source driver, but linux kernel dgaf about actually using their code, for some reason

i fixed it btw. kernel 6 is a shidcoin... for AMD stick to 5.15 even if it's out of date

honestly, if exploits on this version are found, i would happily spend a few days writing a patch to fit, i know C pretty good
