Maybe I disabled a "personalized ads" checkbox somewhere.. but then wouldn't they fall back to matching the ads to the content of the video? Like broadcast TV used to do.
Like if I'm watching a programming video shouldn't I see some ads for - crazy thought - technology? Or if I watch an exercise video I should see ads for fitness or athletic stuff?
All this profiling, tracking & analyzing Google does... and they are just super bad at advertising.
It's insulting really.
#google #advertising
They haven't even figured out that if I've seen an ad 100+ times (which I have with the money transfer service) and I haven't clicked the ad or visited their site by now... Then I'm PROBABLY not a good target for this ad & it's time to try another.
Is this not just very basic & obvious?
If I have to keep watching a few seconds of ads before I can skip... I'd at least like to be shown a variety of products & services I might not be aware of. Broaden my horizons or something.
Maybe I've just so confused Google by having a clearly female profile but watching a lot of male-typical content like tech, fitness, construction, gaming, etc.... that Google has just utterly failed to put me in a category. 🤷♀️
