Pineapple is not the scam. Only the claim that it's generally healthy.
Fruits were not optimized to be healthy but to be high in sugar and low in fiber.
Natural sugar is healthy
How natural is sugar when 10k years ago there was no fruit in the world with the sugar content of today's fruits. When you further extract and concentrate that natural sugar, is it still natural?
Curious how we know what the concentration of sugar in a blueberry was thousands of years ago.
Regardless, sugar is the optimal metabolic energy source.
It's like saying meat was optimized to be high in protein and low in carbs. So?
Meat production aims for tender meat and fast growth. There's no carbs in meat. And yes, there is a good chance that domesticated cows are less healthy than wild animals but I never heard of anything except for hormones and antibiotics fed to cows for growth. Genetically, life stock might grow fast but has essentially the same composition as other animal species.
