I really don’t understand why people rather walk backwards instead of moving forward with their lives. It’s like most people are too attached to their miserable past instead of facing that the future can be better if they dare to change their present.

Hmm. I suppose if a person gets attached to the past, it holds some of binding features, which hook them, and when they find the nature of that features, the real journey starts
And when real journey starts, it takes the great deal of courage and attention sometimes to not break what was supposed to be reinforcing. IMHO 😇

It's because almost everyone has been conditioned to believe that the governments and corporations will always make the progress for them, therefore making them completely dependent on this false, and potentially detrimental, narrative. Narratives like this have also led to an increase in laziness among average citizens which, in turn, have created an abundance of health issues. DON'T eat fiat food and do all grocery shopping at local farmers markets👌. What's even worse is that when people encounter a health problem, their first instinct is to see a fiat doctor (a.k.a. pill pushers) for help. And what do they always recommend to their patients... medications (a.k.a. poisons)!
