I think we should look at relays that are discoverable over mesh / zeronet / multi peer / Wi-Fi Direct / wifiaware / second wind.

I’d love if we used some for the nostr grant fund put money in to projects to develop a offline functionality for nostr. Using embedded relays and ones that could go in to lower power devices like raspberry pi for places with limited connectivity.

It would mean that nostr could work in areas without internet or web the internet gets shutdown

There is a version of scuttlebutt called tiny ssb which works over LoRa and is able to even do encoded audio in signed events less than 256 bytes.

Very nice! I believe reticulum has a real world lower limit of ~500 bits/s, so they could play nicely. The auto-interface should make it pretty much plug n play? 👀
