Yeah, I was never that bothered by this. It seems like the populations of most of these trophy animals are being managed with conservation in mind. In the US, lots of game animals' populations have stabilized largely through the efforts of hunting organizations who want to preserve population for posterity. Likewise, these trophy animals will always attract trophy hunters, the profit motive is to keep that cash coming, not kill it all off.
