Money is the prevailing medium of exchange, which are fiat currencies - this wont change anytime soon either.
Since everything is priced in the current medium of exchange, everyone pays attention to ROI in fiat. Even services and goods sold for crypto are priced in fiat and then converted. Fiat gains are to be reinvested wisely, aka stack more sats as it's the best long-term strategy right now. There's really no mistery.
Which brings me again to the point how you consider aiming to increase one's ROI stupid - do you agree someone who bought Bitcoin in 2018 would be better off compared to anyone who bought monero instead (See how there's no fiat involved in this example)?
I agree they'd have more fiat purchasing power.
obviously that's your priority, good luck with it 👍
They would also have way more monero now, like waaaaaay more. Apparently that's a stupid thing.
I'm not interested in your interpretation of what I said.
If you think you can time the market, good for you.
So why post then when you are not interested in a conversation about it?
you have a reading comprehension problem.
nowhere did I say "more purchasing power is stupid" and I'm not interested in a conversation with someone who can't read.
Your make it sound like you believe increasing one's ROI is a stupid thing. What else do you need from an investment?
