🫡 A father told his daughter, "Congrats on your graduation. I bought you a car a while back. I want you to have it now."

Before I give it to you, take it to a car dealer in the city and sell it. See how much they offer.”

The girl came back to her father & said: "They offered me $10,000 dollars because it looks very old"

Father said: "Ok, now take it to the pawn shop".

The girl returns to her father & said: "The pawn shop offered $1,000 dollars because it's a very old car & a lot of work done".

The father told her to join a passionate car club with experts & show them the car.

The girl drove to the passionate car club.

She returned to her father after a few hours & told him, “Some people in the club offered me $100k because its a rare car that's in good condition.”

Then the father said, "I wanted to let you know that you are not worth anything if you are not in the right place. If you are not appreciated, do not be angry, that means you are in the wrong place. Don't stay in a place where no one sees your value ."

The moral of the story : Know your worth and know where you are valued. A diamond doesn't shine on the bottom of a cave.

I like this story, but the REAL lesson here is this: have a rich dad with forsight and patience who spoils you.

Do you know any rich Dads adopting?

Kids these days would have just sold it at the first place for 10k though 😂

🙌

True words.

value for value !

I already left my home to increasing my standard of living. I am prepared to leave my country for better quality of life if my rights and wealth are more respected elsewhere.

Reminds me of "A Man and His Old Watch"

A man handed his son an old watch and said, "This belonged to your grandfather. It’s been with our family for decades. I want you to have it now."

"Before I pass it on to you, take it to the local pawn shop and ask how much they’d offer for it."

The son returned and said, “They offered me $50. They said it’s old and scratched up.”

The father replied, “Now, take it to the antique shop.”

When the son returned, he said, “They offered me $500. They said it’s vintage, but they’d need to repair it before reselling.”

The father nodded, “One more stop—take it to the museum curator.”

The son came back amazed, “The curator said they wouldn’t buy it. Instead, they want to put it on display. They said it’s a priceless piece of history.”

The father smiled, “You see, I wanted to show you that value isn’t always about age or appearance—it’s about the context you’re in. You may be overlooked by some because they don't see your worth, but in the right place, your value will shine. Never settle for those who can't see what you're truly worth.”

Moral: Surround yourself with people and places that recognize your true worth, and don’t settle for less. Your value doesn’t diminish because someone else can’t see it.

🧡💜 beautiful story

I only knew of the car version. I thought you were going to say the Christopher Walken Pulp Fiction story with the watch. 🤣

Let’s do that 😀

This so spoke to me tonight.

Have dealt with this in the last couple of months.

Big eye opening moment for me when I realized I had been working with clients who had been undervaluing me for far too long.

Nothing better than realizing you can move on to where you are appreciated.

I like reading this but hate accepting this

Great story and a good lesson!

Ok I’m usually a bit of a stick in the mud with parables like this, but that was pretty good 🥹
