This is the kind of example people use to say we should never expose any "internal" codes to users because they are dumb and will be frightened, it's not "good UX" and so on.

And yet phone apps do show the number that is calling, even if there is a name associated with it.

And they also show users a giant keypad where users can type numbers directly and -- surprise -- everybody understands and types numbers there all the time! (or at least they did when people used to use telephones.)

If they get frightened by a phone number I dont think they should be using a phone...

People are much smarter than they are given credit for, especially when they are curious or otherwise motivated.

💯

That's why the phone took off. It had global identifiers and didnt require authentication.

That is indeed a very good point.

Similar thing with relays. Hiding relays from users for “good UX” is like removing the address bar from a web browser.

Perfect UX, just use Google to navigate.

It’s a fine line

Most people are only as smart as they need to be. They use their mental bandwidth for things other than technology.

Worse is Better.

gm fiatjaf,

It seems to me as if lots of additional layers have been added to extract money and keep control.

This is an utter waste of valuble resources if we have uncovered something new,

How much faster is nostr?

Do you believe can we use nostr to replace all existing comminication protocols?

I tried to talk to some intelligent (so say) guys about Nostr - no joy - My family & I are very excited by the future of nostrz emergence

(again please excuse my terminology n stuff) I am well out of my comfort zone I am still at a very basic level of understanding here - compile/decomplile sort of thing.
