Buy used couch + steam cleaner
Facebook marketplace a solid but used and well worn couch for 25% of the cost of a new one.
I'm greatly opposed to buying furniture new. Huge waste of sats
Or, just train the dogs not to get on the couch. I have a dog and it knows that couches and beds are off limits.
The only solution I've found is to accept your fate. Don't fight it. Love your pets and love your couch in poor condition. Your pets are competitively compensated for the user experience they provide.

Put a blanket down in one area of the couch that is designated for doggo, then wash said blanket
Not a bad idea. We have waterproof chucks we use for the dog bed. I should use those.

Nice. I've never heard of a pet blanket.
I use mattress protectors and sheets. Mattress protector helped out a lot when puppy was still potty training. sheets are easy to wash. Both are fitted so don't slide off easy like blankets seem to.

We bought a couch for cheap just for the dogs and trained them to only use that couch.
I have a pet bed area with pads, but one of our dogs is getting to old to make it there now.😔
