nostr:npub1xtarqpp8szh3emv6fuy3qxtkl0eer9a0snf9kttxkkavt7nlrx7sd9wd29 Aside from passports, there's no national ID system in Canada. The ID that people carry are usually issued by each province & they're usually driver's licenses (or provincial photo ID cards for those without a driver's license).

Some provinces like British Columbia allow people to login to gov't services with their BC ID credentials.

There is limited support using bank creds as a "sign-in partner" to login to some federal gov't services.

Overall, it's pretty disjointed atm...

I’m a fan of the idea of a government digital ID. Some commercial services/apps implement it for a “blue check”-like system. The local classifieds app does to indicate which users are at least real humans for example.
