The fact that #ElonMusk can make decisions that affect the Russo-Ukrainian war is mind-boggling.
Allowing the use of Starlink for the attack, he concluded, could be a disaster for the world. So he secretly told his engineers to turn off coverage within 100 kilometers of the Crimean coast. As a result, when the Ukrainian drone subs got near the Russian fleet in Sevastopol, they lost connectivity and washed ashore harmlessly.
Wow, just wow, this guy is dangerous: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/09/07/elon-musk-starlink-ukraine-russia-invasion/
A recent study published in the journal Science found that humans were nearly wiped out in an "ancestral bottleneck" event 800,000 years ago. This event lasted nearly 120,000 years before the population recovered.
During this time period, it was estimated that there were only nearly 1300 breeding individuals during this time period.

There have been talk about this event on the fediverse (not much from what I can tell though), including a post from Flipboard Newsdesk about it here: https://flipboard.social/@NewsDesk/110980262140100586
A large truck transporting 5 million bees lost its load earlier this morning in Burlington, Ontario. The incident caused the beehives spilling along the road with bees swarming trying to figure out where they were.

Really liked the #Momazon #Futurama episode, was a really fun one lol!
The parody of #Amazon was spot on.

Did you know: for Canadians looking for a Canadian-specific or a more local fediverse instance, there's a directory for that?
Check out: https://mastodonserver.ca/
For Canadian #MastoAdmin, there's even a Canadian fediverse relay as well, check out: https://relay-new.activitypub.ca/

Well, #Bsky seems to be borked right now. Not sure if it's due to the Twitter surge (even with the closed invite system), or something else...
Looking at the Mastodon User Chart, it doesn't appear to be a surge like the past migrations either.
Who knows, some people might be waiting for when the feature disappearing before the migration? Not sure...

Bigger wheels might look better and allow for larger brakes, but they negatively impact ride and handling, they're more expensive, and they sap energy efficiency.
This, so much this. I really don't get what the car industry's fascination of the ever growing wheel sizes. All it does is to jack up the cost, make the ride worse and decrease efficiency.
I get the need for larger brakes due to cars being larger but 19 - 22" wheels, like seriously?

nostr:npub1e4sh6ckdmk8xjnqn9j37aup8sf6wllazdxuuvg5dky9q453qat0qdr35mt Memes would be great but my feed is just people just blabbering about the whole thing lol. I need a break from hearing about it, it's getting a bit exhausting with the deluge 😂.
Good thing Mastodon & Firefish have filters, even if it's just temporary until the fervor dies down a bit lol.
I know it's the biggest headline but you know your feed has too much American content when most of it talks about Trump & his indictment.
It's starting to get tiresome, might need to start deploying some filters & diversifying my geographic reach lol...
nostr:npub1gsanyryvf5kcmkf2e4ejdytngx6dkcw0f5glgw7t6pf84nspln9q3ufg0w This is sad to hear, politicians are taking cheap shots to win political points over some electorates who simply don't know what The Canadian Press is. Doesn't help the fact that the agency isn't really "consumer facing" either...
It feels eerily similar to what some politicians are casting the CBC as something evil...
Lol 😋
