Prolific following is a common practice on Nostr, as a way to increase the diversity of oneβs βalgo freeβ feed.
But the more prolific followers I follow, the more likely it is that one or more of these βfollows followsβare gonna be a bot or bad actor β¦ or generally someone I just donβt want in my own feed.
Blocking helps. Reports help. Other stuff helps, but (so far) these WoT relays do not calculate for these to help prune my βfollows followsβ.
Nostr needs smarter webs of trust, using opensource algos that people can freely choose from.
But thatβs literally a fix thatβs already being worked on, canβt expect it all to be built in a day.
