I'm designing a nostr course for the channel and community

Having a hard time though cause all clients are different and shit changes every god damn day around here

What are some CORE principles of nostr that new users should be aware of?

Understanding multiple npubs help compartmentalize your personal and professional personas, businesses, and personal life

Be cautious using your nsec and only use your npub when only consuming content. Restrict nsec logins to when you are posting.

A deletion request is not guaranteed to be accepted by other nostr nodes. If you run your own nostr node, it is possible to delete your post, however, peer nodes and relays decide whether to act upon the request. Content is essentially permanent once it is published to any nostr node.

Running a nostr node helps decentralization, reduces censorship, and improves the security of content.

Private key. There is no password recovery, help line or reset. Ultimate responsibility is difficult for people used to "the cloud" model.

Nostr has the potential to be perceived as an energetic protocol reminiscent of life itself. Give a little more, take a little less.

To set it up without a wallet, or you’ll be doxed when the feds begin op ckokepoint 3.0 in a year.

Can you expand what you mean ?

Nostr is not decentralized. It’s KYC via the app stores. Moreso if you set-up a lightning wallet in Primal, etc. when the dems take over congress Jan 27, then regain the majority in 29, they are going to come after platforms such as X and Nostr (signal, etc), and clamp down on crypto and it’s centralized on/off ramps, addresses, etc.

I think it's good to occasionally do searches on topics of interest. That way you discover new people who seldom "trend" and who have something to say on your topic.

If you have the time, I wrote a book about this: https://building-nostr.coracle.social/

Obviously not something to toss to a newbie, but it covers what I consider to be core to nostr.

It would be nice if you could teach from two perspectives: from a content consumers POV (who want to follow and engage with their favourite creators and send zaps), and from a content creators POV (who want to create and expose their content to users on nostr and get zapped). I myself have just broken through the knowledge barrier to get onto nostr and interact, but my main goal is to try and expose my music to nostrinos which is now on nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5 and nostr:npub1yfg0d955c2jrj2080ew7pa4xrtj7x7s7umt28wh0zurwmxgpyj9shwv6vg.
