2nd this! eOS is a fantastic platform and only getting better 💚
This year should be great too with the focus on networking and connection alternatives. Should help alleviate the existing dependence on Tor, which was a bit rough at times last year.

Derek, do you think this is an easier route than setting up lightning on the umbrel? I’m pretty tech savvy but definitely not at the level to where I’m setting up different servers to run custom scripts that hide my IP, etc, etc
If all you want is lightning then either solution would be fine. If I were to start over today and not have to close down 30+ lightning channels, I'd go with embassyOS.
Thanks D. I’ll check it out
Let’s just say, I came to eOS from Umbrel and there is no going back. Their approach to security is superior and provide more control over the services you run. And great support in their community channel as well!
I’m thinking I’ll move to start9 as well. Haven’t been super happy with my umbrel on my raspberry Pi, but I think my power supply isn’t the most consistent and that may be causing some issues. It works for what I need it for… accessing the mempool and occasional on-chain transactions. Thanks for the tip! I’ll check out #start9
Under-powered power supplies can be tricky. I have a DIY set up for eOS, and the hardware hasn’t given me any problems. DM me if you want to know my set up because the power supplies built into some SSD enclosures can cause problems. If the issues you are having with Umbrel are from the PS, then it’s probable it will be an issue on eOS too. Something to keep in mind.
Great! I may take you up on that. Appreciate the help 🤙
i only use the tor option to get used to a lot of services but when clearnet option is available i can invite friends an family to use it too!
