Step away from the crash site and touch grass (or rosemary) if possible. No people, no devices.
Walk in nature
Have a good talk with a good friend
Help someone
Take a nap
Work with hands at something you love to do, especially something creative
Creative outlets are a blessing for those times. For nerves, i've found drinking clove water particularly helpful to chill out.
Yep. I go for a walk or bike ride.
Grounding in the woods
Itโs a beautiful day here and I love going for a walk. Unfortunately Iโm a bit hobbled at the moment and am supposed to be resting my leg.

For me. I'm at 125% all the time, so once things start going bad they usually get worse as I beat myself up over failure. As much as it sucks, pulling back seems be the best fix. For me, right now.
2 weeks ago I ran into over training and/or under-nutrition problems, compounded with crappy sleep. Last week I cut back side work, de-loaded my workouts, and just plain loafed when I was weak. Cut expectations and just got outside more since we had good weather. That allowed me to get excited about this week's work, training, and nutrition, so it compounds positively.
That said, I (and I think most of us) crave consistency, but we just aren't made for it. For me, I think it's just about learning to "cope" so we can stay as consistent for as long, re-framing it: knowing that consistency is the exception, not the rule.
How I deal with stress...
Music. I crank the tunes that make me jam out or distract/relax me.
Watch a funny movie.
Call up a friend, they're usually good at listening to me get stuff off my chest, and maybe sometimes we go grab lunch or coffee together.
Clean house furiously (lol). Helps get the rage out.
Go for a brisk walk and enjoy the nature & take pics along the way.
Have a square of low sugar dark chocolate and some coffee or tea with it.
Stop to think and meditate. Waiting for bad luck to go away on its own. We need to recharge from time to time. And usually when things start to go the wrong way we are doing something wrong so stop and wait for better days to start again stronger than before ๐ hi mallory ๐ดโโ ๏ธ๐ซถ
Hardcore journalling. I write everything that's on my mind with a nice pen ๐
