Japan has an app called PayPay. It’s super popular and accepted almost everywhere now. I touched briefly on how this company grew by doing a lot of manual legwork by literally going to businesses and talking to them. Anyway … when you make a payment in the app, it audibly says “Pay Pay” in an excited tone.

I find it fascinating that they chose this experience. It’s as if they wanted people nearby to hear the brand name while people are paying.

Annoying or genius? You be the judge.

The question now is which noise should BTCPay terminals audibly make upon payment? 🤔🤔

"Sats Sent!"

😂 I'd go nuts if I heard this sound coming from the cashier area

I'd be super excited too! It's rare to find a random person nearby that understands bitcoin

It makes sense for Japans culture

Genius.

Humans love face-to-face interactions, and when that's simulated in a voice on an app, I'd say it reminds them of human interacrion experience subconsciously

We need this for a Nostr ecash app

Cashu wallets need to announce "Bust a Nut!"

It's annoying and genius. Some users will hate it but might have started using the app because they heard it work from total strangers before.

Annoying or genius?

Yes!

Nut Nut!
