I'm not criticizing believers, I just can't believe myself.

This perplexed me too for a bit. I don't think God intervenes though. It's not centrally planned.

Why would he not though? Especially if it's in his house of worship, if he is all knowing and powerful, why would he let stuff like this happen? I genuinely want to know.

I think that the ultimate good is everything and everyone playing their part on the stage of chaos. Whatever God wants, if God really is omnipotent, it's that.

We have free will. God won't mess with free will. He doesn't intervene in anything really. Why does he not? You can think of lots of reasons. It makes sense to me if I think of God as being unable to, or as being so wise as to know he shouldn't. The do nothing principle. He just lets us exist. I don't believe in miracles.

We can't always know why something is good or even that something exists right away. All we can do is fuck around and find out. I don't take my lessons from authority. I get messy and use my reason. Never was one for just regurgitating what church heads said.

Here’s where you logic fails, you believe in something. We all do.

It will either be in a higher power, which is infinitely larger than you are, you can never fully understand them

OR

You will believe in something like the government, or something equally as useless given there’s no foundation

Why does it need to be either? I don't think there is a higher power who is actively controlling, obviously he had to get here somehow, but I don't think some man in the sky put us here, I really don't know or understand, wish I did but don't, and I don't believe anyone really does.

Don’t worry about that, we’re all too small to understand “the master plan.”

But we can understand the machinations that happen around us, to us, and to others.

We’re only here for a short time, no need to understand everything, just where here in front of us now. What works, what doesn’t.

Every time I think about those flies that lay their eggs under your skin, or like all the diseases that cause so much suffering I wonder to myself how the fuck can people believe in god?

If an all powerful God exists wouldn't that mean such a god is evil? To create all this suffering for no reason seems evil.

I can understand how people believe in pagan gods or whatever, because they don't have absolute power.

But a monotheistic god, I can't understand how people believe.

I agree with this, it doesn't make sense to me, never has, even as a kid when I went to church none of it felt right.

Same here except as I got older I realized that my fear of suffering might itself be unnecessary and not a sign of some ultimate evil. Avoiding suffering is a pussy's game. If God exists, he's not there to artificially make your life easy. The monotheists who believe he is are beholden to a contradiction and are a bit insane.

This is not what most people will say, but this stuff matters to us because we are human and our perspective is limited. God is infinite and eternal. God loves everyone and everything, even the suffering and the ones who inflict it. This stuff matters to us and we make judgments about it because we are alive and biased, but when our mortal lives are over and we become conscious of the fact that we are one with God, none of what what happens here will matter in the same way.

Tbh I have no fu clue. Im just a retarded psycho. And I don’t believe in “god” the way other people do either.

BUT.

Heres my thought you didn’t ask for but you will get anyway.

Maybe you are God in a physical body. You are spirit in the flesh. You are eternal life expressing Iiself as You. You are a cosmic being. You are all power. You are all wisdom. You are all intelligence. You are perfection. You are magnificence. You are the creator and you are creating the creation of You on this planet.

You are god.

And you can’t help kids dying from cancer.

This is my take

That's an interesting perspective, kinda makes a bit more sense.

Feel free to explore this thought further. You might find god within you.

Perfectly stated Dave!

Who really knows? The more we think we know, the more we realize we have no f*cking clue 🤷‍♂️🧡🫂💜

Can’t know the unknowable but you encounter it and be left with faith.
