Android 14 update to GrapheneOS appears to have massively improved battery life! π
Discussion
Time to upgrade.
Indeed the battery tine improved
Honestly I'm now seeing a buggy behaviour with respect to the hands gestures 'back' and 'home' in secondary profiles. But it could be not related to the upgrade
Android 14 introduced many security improvements to secondary users however there have been quite a few UI/UX regressions introduced upstream. Once work has completed transitioning and introducing Pixel 8 and 8 Pro to stable where resources permit, they will be looked at if not dealt with via AOSP QPR releases for example.
Interesting, for me seems the same. π§
is GrapheneOS suitable for non techies?
Yes, installation is pretty easy and if you are used to Android you'll get a lot of security and privacy best practices backed in. I switched from iOS and don't want to go back β it took about two weeks of adjustment and by now I don't miss anything, happy to have made the switch.
yes i'm a non techie!
Yes and as an FYI the following note details how GrapheneOS and CalyxOS are worlds apart in scope and aim. If security and privacy are your focus there is only one choice to make...
i was iphone user from 2008 to 2023 so if i csn well then you can for sure
Well considering android is much more feature rich and the decrease in screen time as a result WOULD appear to increase battery life π
Just messing with you. GrapheneOS and CalyxOS are both great.
GrapheneOS and CalyxOS are very different OS with incredibly divergent scope and aim.
The following note details most of the major differences covering both it and LineageOS on which Calyx is based.
Yes it's great
Is it possible to install graphene on cell phones other than pixel?
For example on CUBOT 80?
It is a 100 USD cell phone running on Android 14.
Now or hopefully soon?
Would be great!
Can someone in the GrapheneOS community please get it officially supported on some actual MOBILE phone? (iPhone Mini or smaller form factor.)
