Definitely not just you. Had to do some relay adjustments the last week or two.
Yeah, one and big unsolved problem for Nostr. How do we ensure that the core infrastructure is well funded and reliable 🐶🐾🤷♂️
Or at the very least a way to for clients to find new relays when one’s been unresponsive for a while.
The problem is paid relays. Do I continue paying for new ones? 🐶🐾🤷♂️
I felt the same way Uncle Fishcake when I saw relays that were previously working start erroring on me. I felt like soon it would be nothing but paid and a couple of overworked free ones. So I spun up my own on altruistic relay on a dedicated, as in it's the only thing it's doing, server as a contribution to Nostr.

The nos.social notification engine pulls from a lot of relays, looking at which ones a user says they’re using, and looking for replies and reactions… we’re seeing about 50% of relays being offline.
