To be fair, the mempool did clear on my node after a hard shutdown. π
Are you dunking on Mempool for being right?
To elaborate, the beginning of October, miners did probably not include plenty of zero fee transactions but any transactions that paid a fee at all were mined. Zero fee transactions are marginally free to produce, so anybody could make sure the mempool never clears all of those for free.
