Can some devs and backend talent explain if Bisq is legit under the hood?! What are the vulnerabilities or points of failure/rugpull/scam/nefarious actions? Seems like some levels of trust are involved at strategic points but I could use help understanding when and how. 🙏🤔 Feels like banking info and KYC is being exposed at some point. (?)

Going to see what old threads I can find but any help 🔦 is appreciated!

Figured it out. Bisq seems cool but it's essentially a facilitator of decentralized P2P private transactions. And going to/fro fiat will KYC yourself.

So looking at any methods to mitigate. Some people suggested using Strike. So looking into this now... lol.

Bircoin rabbit hole never ends.

You're trusting the moderators to resolve disputes correctly so you don't lose money. They are anonymous.

With that said, I use it all the time and was never scammed by other users. The threat of trying to scam and getting caught and losing the security deposit is big enough that no one tries to scam.

I have been actively using Bisq for more than a year (selling btc) with no scams, but recently was hit by two SEPA chargebacks from two different people and Bisq onion addresses.

Still trying to understand what happened, my bank is slow to explain ...

Did you lose money on that?
