If there's someone out there with Oreos and a blowtorch, I'll zap 10k for a replication of this experiment. #nostr #asknostr

He rubbed some kind of fire retardant on it for a video no doubt.

I was thinking they were fire resistant replicas of some kind, but that's also possible.

No, but I have an idea

Send this to ELON!

I am coming back in 10 minutes

This was the result.

Thank you 🫡

That is really something 👏

The forbidden fireproof cookie

Thought Saif said Oreo’s were just fine??🤣🤣

This must have something to do with the Leidenfrost effect.

Interesting

After I posted this I decided its probably more like a thin layer of carbon being instantly created insulating layers beneath

Torching hardtack/ship's biscuit will have the same result.

It'll just char like that is doing.

Depending on my workload this weekend, I'll see if I can put some together.

A couple batches, and add Coco to one of them for color to match the Oreos.

Should make a interesting comparison.

I'd love to see it 🫡

+1

🤯🤢

It's full of mostly dry organic material, so it's just turning into carbon foam with heat.

Carbon foam is very insulating, so it will just form a black layer on the outside, and the heat will struggle to penetrate.
