Skinny with big hair

#80s

Brings back great memories, man 👍👏

Everybody was skinny

Everybody was reasonably healthy!

haha... no

Not everyone, but there was usually one far kid in class… my graduating class in 1987 had about 500 kids in it. Maybe 5-10% would be considered overweight or maybe chubby by today’s standards, but the only morbidly obese kid was named Jeff H. At about 6’ tall he was probably 325-350.

Times have sure changed, especially in the big cities. Since we moved to a small town, most of the kids are farm kids and from what I can see are overall much more active and in better shape than the city kids I always saw 4 years ago. More responsible too! Just my observations, YMMV ;-)

Wow this hit me right in the feels

What a lost age

Will we ever go back?

In many small ways we already have! So many of my fellow 90s kids and much younger love 80s culture

yes, but something about the lack of cellphones and the internet really makes it feel like the before times

The way people viewed each other and interracted. Human values. Humanity.

exactly

That's not going back.

You can never go back.

Only in your heart.

Its not the culture, it was much more than that. It was a time of hope and some normalcy.

Only those that lived it understand what I'm trying to say...those feels cannot be transported or revived the same way now. And it only makes sense.

I am grateful to have enjoyed some pieces of heaven during that decade.

Heaven is here, if you want it.

Nothing has changed except that now everyone has a smartphone.

Distinctly remember my dad (who is 66 now) constantly complaining how expensive everything was in those days too. He had no idea why it was all happening.

My dad also used to tell me often to shoot for a job that pays “$50,000 a year” and I’d be comfortable lmao

LMAO. This is a good example of “you can’t imagine how much worse it can get” 😂

Exactly😂

And really, it’s going to get much, much worse. Travel has given me glimpses into the future. In Argentina the bills are denominated in 1000’s and anything less is considered coinage. They literally have no coins.

Mexico is in between Argentina and the U.S. in its fiat implosion.

It’s exactly where the rest of the world is headed (minus Bitcoiner’s). Except it’ll just be uber-cuck “credits” on the phone. Cannot wait to see the EU hyperinflation token launch and get completely destroyed in short order.

Yeah I heard in places like that, the actual metal of the coins are worth more than the paper currency so they are out of circulation lmao but hey no one told them to bury their heads in the sand 🤷‍♂️

My dad, 69 years now, was always complaining about inflation. Now he understands all.

How did he figure it out?

I explained.

The Harvard tuition is per year? 👀

I don’t think so but not sure

Hmm

In 1999, Harvard's tuition increased by 3.3% to $32,164 for the 1999-2000 academic year, which included room and board.

Crazyyyyy

I'm grateful of the hyperinflation I've went through in my early years. No books of economics would have done it better for me. ☝🏻🐸

Average income was quite low, what is it today in US?

Around 55k

It's per person, not per houshold, that's why it feels so low.

Both parents weren’t working as much back then

I come up with $64k for the avg but the median is $62k.

Oh shit it’s zordon

Yes and back from the 90’s!

It looks like another world. 😅🤦‍♂️

The health, joy, and aspirations. All world looked at the America and was getting inspired.
