Exactly why I went into security instead of software engineering.
It’s mind blowing that the system STILL teaches everyone the same thing - in the same way.
A travesty for most kids.
yeah it makes no sense. I never enjoyed math until I actually needed it, like linear algebra for building games. I think I was in my 20s when I finally decided to learn it for real. my math classes growing up were useless.

😂
The value of learning math is not just being able to solve integrals and understand functions. Most people will never use that in their day-to-day life, not even most engineers, myself included. Part of the benefit is developing your brain to be able to think logically. A workout for the mind, if you will. I know I will never have to do a bench press outside of the gym, but I do it in the gym anyway because of the results that extend beyond doing that particular exercise.
🤣😹
😅🤣
Learning algebra, geometry, and calculus…. Seems as reasonable skill as learning to shoe a horse ,so I can drive down the road if I even need to in a carriage.
I’ll stick with AI(phone calculator) and my horseless carriage (automobile)
I had to have 3 years of math in high school, very thankful they let me take 3 years of general math over and over 😁 I got my multiplication tables down pat 👍
Algebra became useful & relevant when I started coding.
Everyone uses algebra every day.
If you have ever done grocery shopping and bought more than one item, you've done algebra.
it's the first math you learn at school.
If Jimmy has 8 oranges and Sally has 5 apples how many fruit does Jimmy and Sally have together?
Or the question about the guy that buys 50 watermelons at a time for $1.05 each etc.
We've all seen those "the guy from the math problem memes"
Algebra is the math that you actually use in real life.
