Hey Fiatjaf!

Thank you for the feedback - we are thinking about all of this a lot these days.

We started with our previous app Tweetoshi that was focused on Bitcoin & LN and when we pivoted to Plebstr we firstly thought about it as “Tweetoshi on steroids for Nostr”. It still seems to us like a great option but we also feel that we have to be a little more “generic” in order to get the masses on Nostr.

We want to be a pro-profit company and we are looking for investors so we can continue building Plebstr full time with our 5-member team. That is a big part of why we are not open source now - but if we get a “right” investor we are definitely open to it. We also plan to build an open source Nostr “signer” for safer and easier key management on mobile

It’s amazing to get feedback and we would love to get it more from all of you but especially you and people like #[2] who really know the social media space.

I agree. Plebstr is my primary client on iPhone.

If you build a great product you can still profit. Open source is the new bar imo for anything involving key pairs. Look forward to trying out your app when it is open source, imagine the zaps you’ll get! I suspect this voluntary type of zap splitting with good projects will be a success: nostr:note1v4gyqs3czkfe4z52z006a0wzpca865ue9gt9jzkzqxt5wld7npgqh76np4

I agree 100%
