When it comes to changing sats to bitcoin, it is this simple.

The only people who are confused right now, want to be. We should not cater to either the stupid or the willfully ignorant.

And despite what @jack says, it won't have any impact on how many people spend it.

Sats has been the standard since Bitcoin was worth a fraction of a cent, it is now worth over 100K per unit.

Sats didn't prevent Bitcoin from accumulating a more than 2 trillion dollar market cap and it won't prevent it from hitting a 10 trillion dollar cap either.

It seems @jack is obsessed with this because he wants people to "spend bitcoin" but it won't have any effect at all on people doing so.

Bitcoiners know what the f--k a sat is, we have reasons we don't spend more but the name we use is not one of them.

People do not spend bitcoin for many reasons but the biggest are

1. It will be worth more tomorrow then today

2. Tax implications

3. Not that many sellers take it due to number 2 BTW

Bitcoin is hard money coexisting in a soft money system.

No one with any brains wants to spend any hard money they don't have to in a soft money system, no one wants to borrow hard money in a soft money system.

None of this is addressed with a stupid, ill conceived and honestly pointless change of what we call a thing.

Also no BIP is needed if this was to be accepted.

"We should call all bitcoin down to the satoshi just Bitcoin"

Yea that has always been allowed, so has saying bits, bit nickles, etc. but no one cares. No one wants it. Let the market decide not some guy that used to own Twitter.

In the end, if you read this far thanks but I should not have even bothered to write this. This idea is not going anywhere, we've been though this in the past, MANY TIMES.

It isn't a solution, not even a solution looking for a problem. As stupid as BCH and BSV were, more people supported that them than this stupid πŸ‚ πŸ’©.

If you really think people being confused by "sats" is holding back the best preforming asset in human history, then teach people what sats are.

I have never explained it to anyone who needed more than two sentences to understand.

Anyone who needs more than two sentences, does not want to understand it, and will not buy bitcoin anyway.

Tick tock lol.

This is playground level noise because price is somehow boring at 100k and theres no real big FUD kicking around

IMO what's more confusing to a newbie than terminology is telling them you're sending them 5,000 sats and it shows up in their wallet app as 0.00005.

Then they're like "Thanks for making me have to do math, a-hole" 🀣

I agree 100%. A name change does nothing positive for Bitcoin.

People espousing those who use the empirical system with inches, feet, yards, miles, etc. can’t understand a Satoshi is pissing in the wind.

Yes! I've been confused as hell about all the uproar, of all the complex things surrounding bitcoin, understanding Sats isn't one of them... Jfc...
