You are thinking too specific and too “current.” There is no way that advertising or audience support can be cheaper while supporting a giant middle man corporation than it is directly.

The economics of it suggest at some point the network effects and limitations of the tools or UX simply won’t be in the way anymore (I think a million new “programmers” accelerates TF out of that). And at that point the economics (and the many other benefits it comes with) will cause the shift.
