I love the idea of completely dropping the “like” button. The “zap” is much more expressive and works better overall. What does a “like” even do anyway? If you wanna share something, share it. If you wanna like something, zap it! ⚡️

Well, on Amethyst you can customize your "like" with emoji or gif. I actually like this feature especially if I don't feel like zapping.
Fair enough but like button is legacy from the old and centralized social media world. It won’t exist in a few years. Nostr should lead the way with the best replacement: ⚡️
True and the best replacement is being able to customize your like button with any emoji or gif you desire. I find this feature the most fascinating on Amethyst because notifications are delivered with the emoji or gif of your choice so it becomes a human interaction between the reader and the note's author.
If you use a smart watch you get the emoji notifications on your wrist.

These are artifacts of society. The like is useless polite small talk vs a zap is like actually personally taking an interest in a fellow human.
