Still gives me twitter vibes
I have no issue with algorithms. The algorithm is why I can open X (twitter) and see important content in the first 2 seconds rather than scrolling for ages and ages chronologically.
I just want to know how the algorithms work. But overall it is a major convenience to me.

Yes and no. Reading the newspaper was also addicting back in the day. News is addicting.
Twitter is more malicious with the algorithms presenting an endless feed of “provocative” content. In Nostr, this need not extend beyond your friends of friends. And it would be transparent instead of opaque (like Twitter is).
Precisely why it's my main SN.
On the flipside, I can also rant about stuff and sometimes it just ends up in the void, and sometimes interesting discussions emerge from it. And zaps, somtimes.
Much different from an algorythmn driven platform. I like it. ^^
