Are you uploading from client or from there directly?
For bigger files I tend to use nostr.build page and then copy/paste the link

great q. horrible workflow. can’t login on mobile at all. in airdropping vid to my desktop it compressed. uploaded manually for no reason as this is not even original quality.
tremendous waste of time
Amethyst, for example, has built in media server selections. Any video or photo from device can be uploaded via the app, including nostr.build
It also offers various compression options in app too. Up to 100mb for free.
legendary. now if I just get an android
You should, #Amethyst is worth it 😂😅

Pretty sure nostur has the same function on ios
Nostur is the Amethyst of IOS
If your npub is connected to nostr:npub1nxy4qpqnld6kmpphjykvx2lqwvxmuxluddwjamm4nc29ds3elyzsm5avr7 and you have it set as your image upload method it should automatically upload to your premium account.
yea you would think. many times that does work
nostr:npub13ch6rllnruy5z2qm57836yw5zx4ytju4jl569jys6jhtp9furupsccdsaw nostr:npub137c5pd8gmhhe0njtsgwjgunc5xjr2vmzvglkgqs5sjeh972gqqxqjak37w Any ideas?
i think my expectations are just misaligned
seems the best solution for large video is indeed to open a computer, pay super high fee, manually upload compressed video, wait for processing, post to client
Yes, the problem could simply be that you are loading enormous uncompressed MOV files instead of compressed MP4s.
A few ways around this:
Adobe Media Encoder - you can choose custom compression methods and even set a target file size
Online compression tools - some are free or have premium features like removal of watermarks
Believe it or not, one of the best compression tools is Twitter. Videos uploaded there are highly compressed but still manage to be decent quality. You have to use a third-party tool called savetwitter.net to download them, but what you’ll end up with is perfect to upload to Nostr, and works better than linking directly to videos on Twitter’s CDN.
This works well on Mac:
I’ve definitely used that before too, but mainly for ripping DVDs.
We are talking, thanks for the tag 🫂
been through this exact thing several times the last 2 years. at a certain point i’m just going to lose interest in sharing high quality stuff here
