Already mostly built !!
Mmm... Sorry, I don't get it.
I was describing a ESP32-based bode that just does BLE relay.
No satellite, nothing else but BLE relay.

BLE relay with a 10meter range is useless unless you plan to just talk to your neighbour. The solution is built to negate the need for centralised internet need and bridge the cross continent gap.
A few more are developing Lora / meshtastic to extend the range in the local area
I'm not pretending to build a long distance mesh network with BLE, and I'm aware of other solutions to extend the range as LoRa and meshtastic.
But I still think a BLE relay could be very useful to improve BLE mesh in certain situations and locations.

I fail to understand the concept. The main device i.e phone would need to be 10meters/30feet away from the next mesh BLE relay , and the next BLE relay would been to equally be that close .. not sure that distance constitutes a meaningful mesh relay as such. I'm all for building tech don't get me wrong but has to be practical and have some sort of use case ! ๐งก
I have a big house where I'd like to be able to use bitchat between family members and visitors.
I reckon that with 2 or 3 BLE nodes I would be able to extend the mesh throughout the whole house and gardens.
That's the use case I'm thinking, but I guess some of those nodes would also be useful in large venues for conferences, concerts, etc.

But that's why the added geohash locations and private group ability over wifi / Internet. From what I read on their repo they will probably delete BLE stack from that app as it's been a flop.
I'm looking for local communication without internet.
Where did you read that they are going to delete the BLE mesh functionality??
