GM!

I’ve been curious on the idea of using a miner to heat a house, prefferably having a miner connected to a floor heating system. Can’t find any products on the market so that would be cool!

There are some solutions. Depends which part of the globe you in I can help in UK/EU or put you in contact with a few guys in the US. None of the solutions are "commercial" product standard yet as they take some custom adjusting to fit your heating system needs. But very much doable

Cool!

I’m still in the process of sourcing land where to build said house/cabin so it’s some time in the future, I’ll def ask you again when It’s time (I’m in EU) πŸ‘Œ

I remain at your disposal. Just reach out at design stage to allow for hash heating needs to be incorporated into the house design criteria

Some ESP32 node that extends BLE mesh (bitchat range):

Solar powered would be amazing!

😊

Mmm... Sorry, I don't get it.

I was describing a ESP32-based bode that just does BLE relay.

No satellite, nothing else but BLE relay.

BLE relay with a 10meter range is useless unless you plan to just talk to your neighbour. The solution is built to negate the need for centralised internet need and bridge the cross continent gap.

A few more are developing Lora / meshtastic to extend the range in the local area

I'm not pretending to build a long distance mesh network with BLE, and I'm aware of other solutions to extend the range as LoRa and meshtastic.

But I still think a BLE relay could be very useful to improve BLE mesh in certain situations and locations.

I fail to understand the concept. The main device i.e phone would need to be 10meters/30feet away from the next mesh BLE relay , and the next BLE relay would been to equally be that close .. not sure that distance constitutes a meaningful mesh relay as such. I'm all for building tech don't get me wrong but has to be practical and have some sort of use case ! 🧑

I have a big house where I'd like to be able to use bitchat between family members and visitors.

I reckon that with 2 or 3 BLE nodes I would be able to extend the mesh throughout the whole house and gardens.

That's the use case I'm thinking, but I guess some of those nodes would also be useful in large venues for conferences, concerts, etc.

But that's why the added geohash locations and private group ability over wifi / Internet. From what I read on their repo they will probably delete BLE stack from that app as it's been a flop.

I'm looking for local communication without internet.

Where did you read that they are going to delete the BLE mesh functionality??

Saw a few comments on the repo. Either way the more options the better imo.

But who made those comments?

Everybody can comment in a public repo.

Anyway, thanks for your offer.

I'll dig it up when able and share
