Happened over the course of several interactions. We approached them with filling our feed orders and payment in bitcoin was turned down. When we were approached by them for chicks, ducks, and rabbits for their store, we requested payment in bitcoin.

Offered a lower price than anyone else in the area could (due to our conviction) and then when it was accepted, walked them through their first transaction.

Now it’s just understood that payments will be in bitcoin. Not entirely sure if this is the case with their other customers. I’d imagine we are an oddity.

that's great. I'm working on figuring out the same for our farm in Colorado. We have a little farm stand where we'll start taking BTC. Since it's all membership based, we are planning to offer letting people pay the membership fee in USD and convert it to BTC and give them the same amount as a credit to use in store so they get familiar with it.

Little encouragements go so much farther than being pushy, I’ve found. And.. if all else fails, usd payments are easily converted. Given that for now you’ll need usd for monthly expenses anyway, bitcoin is best used as the farm’s treasury.

Have you looked into fedimints at all?

Been thinking that this might be a good model for the "membership buys in and has sats to spend internally".

But I am admittedly only scratching the surface on learning about this.
