That's a big issue. Trying to educate the family to think twice before buying.

Can we use something we have already? Can we fix something broken? If we decide to buy, find the item of the best quality, if possible second hand, so it last as long as possible and can be sell back if not used anymore. Temu and Aliexpress are last resort, when it's the only reasonnable option (Aliexpress is still valuable somehow to get electronic parts for DIY but don't be tempted to buy more because it's cheap and knows what is dangerous crap and what is OK and safe to use. No cheap charger or USB cables that are firehazard. It's a double edge sword as you need skills to shop Ali and eBay or similar). Amazon is also mostly crap now, even books are often cheaper edition of it, got ugly kids book that doesn't help kids to love nice book.

And more difficult, get rid of what we don't use anymore, sell, give, scrap if it has no value at all (or not anymore, not fixable resonnably). Keeping useless stuff cost money, energy and time to store, move, organize, wondering why we look always for a larger flat, then house, then larger house with larger garden, to store and horde more crap that we barely use for most of them.
