People say things like "all voices matter." I think that's incorrect. Dissident voices matter, because disagreement leads to discussion & consideration. And maybe that's what "all voices matter" is supposed to mean, though it's not what people usually practice.
People also say "love everyone," which I think is total nonsense. Obviously, I think we should treat everyone like people, & offer a certain base level of respect. But if treating people with respect is what is meant, then why not just say respect instead of love? We are finite beings, love is only meaningful because our attention & energy are limited, & as a result love MUST be discriminatory.
All people aren't equal, all voices don't matter, & you can't love everyone so you definitely don't have to.
