The centralized service I’m using to host my website https://21ideas.org/ let me down again (ghost.io). Reports an error when posting my weekly digest. Second time this month. This is super frustrating - I’m sure people who prepare newsletters will understand. It takes a lot of time and effort to compile weekly events, voice your opinion on every happening, decorate the post… right, #[0] ? 💜

I’ve been looking at FOSS website solutions and, in fact, built 2 websites on GitHub + Jekyll, but the mere idea of having to move 100s of bitcoin articles, books and other content to a completely different format is killing me!

By the way, how’s https://scribsat.com/ doing, #[2] ? Love what you did, and one of the reasons I’m on the fence with ghost.io is your project! But I don’t want to hide my content behind paywalls, yet I dream of lightning login and ability to seamlessly support posts via LN.

I guess my question is: is struggling with Ghost worth a wait, or Scrib is not planning any new features soon?

I've used WordPress for years so personally, I would use that but it's not for everyone

Thank you, but I’m never going towards proprietary software again. I guess I’ll have to find funding or own time to move all my content to a FOSS solution and self host.

WordPress is free and open source. Has been since the beginning. I self host mine :)

Thinking about launching a project and was considering ghost as top option. Also considering a discord community

Would like to at least build on FOSS in parallel

Would almost seem easier to generate ai vocal read versions of all the posts and re publish as podcasting 2.0 format…already zap ready with multiple apps interfacing

Ghost was founded by an ex WP employee I believe. I’ve never seen many people use it except in the bitcoin community and I’m not sure why. WP has 20+ years of development with thousands of plugins (including V4V). It’s a bit cumbersome and takes a little while to get used to but I like it.
