I think this is the thing that's been missing, concerning the decisions about which projects to fund.

Nobody considers who is more emotionally-invested in doing a good job, and who will be the most-likely to keep working, even if the funds run out, because they won't stop fixing up their own digital house because they live in it.

You are best off giving money to people because you want to make sure that those people can build the house better and/or faster, and to ensure that they make the resulting house big, comfy, well-maintained, and public enough, that

YOU CAN ALSO MOVE INTO IT.

the notion of a social network being your digital home, and clubhouse, has been overwhelmed by this popularity contest of chasing advertising money (that's the incentive) but people don't realise that's what it is driven by

the normies go to whatever the average person is doing so the momentum is against us but at the same time we need more time to build this out because it needs to be done properly

the first people who live in nostr homes and clubhouses are those who are sick of the perverse incentives

the people who come in the later waves will become more and more normies because their friends are doing it, those people we see who are not #nostronly yet and keeping their feet in both worlds... i'm sure for example Lyn has brought a lot of her fans to nostr, and Jack also, and others, but none of that really sticks, it's just a conduit, what makes it stick is the growing number of people who understand what this is about. privacy, affinity, friendship. not a rat race. not fiat.

well it's okay because this is imaginary stuff. we have a long tradition of making up stories and realizing them in various media, like books and trading cards.
